Jim
Hackworth is Committed to Anderson County
- Jim
Hackworth is a 5th generation Anderson Countian. He has lived
and worked here all of his life. He knows our communities and he
knows our needs.

- Jim
attended public schools in Anderson County. He understands the
value we place on good schools that provide students with a
quality education and our
teachers
with a competitive salary.
- Jim
recognizes the value of higher education. He earned both his
bachelors and masters degree in organizational management.
- Jim
understands that Anderson County residents want state government to
work with industry for providing high paying jobs and high standards
for clean water and air.
- Jim
Hackworth served ten years on the Anderson County Commission.
He knows how to balance budgets and believes we should not
balance the state budget by shifting the burden to local government.

Jim worked for 34 years at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory before
retiring June of 2008.
He understands the special role the
Department of Energy facilities play in the quality of life here in
Anderson County.

Jim
believes in community involvement. He has been
a member of
numerous area civic organizations, including the Optimist Club,
Habitat for Humanity, the Oak Ridge and Anderson County Chambers of
Commerce, United Way, and the Anderson
County Rescue Squad.

Jim and his wife Brenda live in Clinton. They have two adult sons
and two grandchildren.
They are members of the First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge.
